What We Do
Joe has a diversified logging and lumber operation. Pulpwood sales to paper mills is a major part of the business. He also sells firewood, hardwood logs, and carving and craft wood. All of the carving and craft wood comes from hardwood thinnings on Aitkin County or State of Minnesota land. The county and state have achieved SmartWood certification for their sustainable management of the public forest lands.
Joe uses a WoodMizer bandsaw mill LT40HD for all his sawing. The bandsaw has a narrow kerf, which wastes very little wood and produces a smooth sawn board. Precision blade height adjustment allows Joe to produce board thicknesses in 1/8" increments.
